I am extremely excited to announce the release (October 2018) of Ursula K. Le Guin's Final book of Poems “So Far So Good” with my painting Yakima Canyon adorning its cover.
Le Guin, well known for her groundbreaking science fiction novels, actually began as a poet. This collection of her poetry, finished right before her death in early 2018, captures the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I'm am truly speechless seeing my work used the visual component of these hauntingly beautiful poems. I feel a true kindred spirit with her work. Thank you Copper Canyon Press for this gracious honor.
"I think hard times are coming, when we will be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now and can see through our fear stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being, and even imagine some real grounds for hope. We will need writers who can remember freedom. Poets, visionaries—the realists of a larger reality." —Ursula K. Le Guin, 2014 National Book Awards
"She never loses touch with her reverence for the immense what is."—Margaret Atwood
"There is no writer with an imagination as forceful and delicate as Le Guin's" —Grace Paley
"So Far So Good" is now available online at Copper Canyon Press and many other fine small bookstores. This book is also available on large chain bookstores (Amazon, Barnes and Noble). Please consider supporting our small bookstores if possible.

One of my biggest passions in life is being an advocate for our environment. As a flyfisherman and painter of our Western rivers including many in the Columbia Basin I am a huge advocate for the removal of the Snake River dams. I was honored to be interviewed by Save Our wild Salmon Coalition for their April 2021 newsletter. These folks have been working hard to protect our wild salmon for over 25 years. Please consider supporting them at www.wildsalmon.org
